Halmahera is in North Maluku Provence, geographically, it lies between 3o south latitude and 124o – 129o east longitudes.
Halmahera occupies a total area of 103,381 km2 of which 3,200 km2 land and the rest is sea. It has populations of 853,161 inhabitants.
Climate
Halmahera is an archipelago lying within the tropical and equatorial ever wet zone, causing of homogenizing effect on the climate. Rainfall exists most of the year in Halmahera.
Two monsoons blow in this area, which are the West monsoon (wet monsoon) from December to March and the East Monsoon (dry monsoon) from May to October. The transitional periods are April and November. The minimum average temperature is 22,3oC and maximum 32,5oC and humidity is 83,5% thought the year.
